Prior to Installation

  • The outdoor battery store can be lifted by crane (using lifting lugs x 4 on roof) or forklift using fork pockets in base only.
  • Make sure the store does not contain batteries, chargers or equipment when it’s being installed or relocated.
  • All doors and maintenance panels need to be secured and locked. The spill sump must be completely empty and cleaned out prior to the store being relocated.
  • Keep the store properly restrained for safe transport and positioning at your site.
  • Scan the warranty registration QR code (or enter the link into your browser) and complete the Storemasta warranty application form.

Positioning

  • Position the outdoor battery store in the required location. The location of your store should be segregated from incompatible substances and away from boundary lines and protected places.
  • Configure the perforated shelving to suit your requirements. To adjust, simply lift up the shelf from the lugs, which are inserted into the cabinet interior wall. Put the lugs in the new position and place the shelf securely on top.
  • Choose a flat, stable concrete surface for the store to be installed on. The surface must be capable of holding the weight of the filled battery store.
  • Ensure all base plates are adequately supported.
  • The intake and outlet must be positioned at least 400-500mm away from any walls or structures.
  • If there is vegetation at the site, make sure that it is kept short and away from the store. The fresh air intake and vents must always be kept clear.
  • Ensure you position the store in line with segregation rules (generally 3-5 metres from other dangerous goods or flammable substances, depending on incompatibility of chemicals), and distancing from protected and public places. We recommend at least a 3 metre exclusion zone to protect people, property and other equipment onsite.
  • Adjust the charging points to suit your battery charging requirements.
  • Plug the store into the power socket

It’s a good idea to have installation and operating procedures for your Storemasta lithium-ion battery store already in place, so staff can be trained to install and use it correctly.

  • Electrical power supply and installation should be performed only by a licensed electrician in compliance with local, state and national electrical code.
  • The electrical installation must be explosion protected within the hazardous area.
  • Isolate power elsewhere prior to opening any electrical enclosure or motor.

Mechanical

  • Ensure grounding of equipment supplied is installed as per manufacturers specifications and according to the appropriate national or regulatory standards.
  • Read all instruction manuals, tags and labels before operating this equipment.
  • Ensure condensate drain P trap is maintained.
  • The return air and supply air grilles must be always kept clear to maintain air flow.
  • Care should be taken to prevent short circuiting of condensing air stream.
